DEAR ASM FRIENDS,

Please join us in congratulating members of our staff on some recent accomplishments:

Lisa Falk, ASM director of education, recently received the Museum Association of Arizona's Award for Contribution in recognition of her outstanding work on "Through the Eyes of the Eagle" and for her continued work in the museum field. She was recognized April 19, 2012 in Phoenix at MAA's annual conference.

Dr. Patrick Lyons, head of collections and acting associate director, is quoted extensively in this story about ASM’s role in the federal investigation Operation Cerberus:
http://alumni.arizona.edu/communications/article/1068

Patrick’s research, and that of Tucson colleagues at Archaeology Southwest, is cited often in the newly published third edition of Archaeology of the Southwest (Cordell and McBrinn), including three pages devoted to their extensive work in the San Pedro Valley (pp. 263-266). Archaeology of the Southwest is the go-to textbook providing a coherent and comprehensive summary of the major themes and topics central to the modern practice and interpretation of Southwest archaeology.

And, congratulations to Drs. Suzanne Fish and Paul Fish on the publication of “Hohokam Society and Water Management” in The Oxford Handbook of North American Archaeology, Oxford Press, 2012. http://www.oup.com/us/catalog/general/subject/Archaeology/NorthAmerican/?view=usa&ci=9780195380118
